Fireworks, parade slated for July 3,4

The city of Coppell has been well known in the area for many years for celebrating Independence Day in a big way, and this year will be no exception.

The annual Spirit of Coppell Fireworks Celebration will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, at Andy Brown Park East, with a big parade on Samuel Boulevard and Parkway Boulevard the following morning.

Live band music will be presented by Limelight on July 3, and children will enjoy bounce houses, rides on the mini train and patriotic face painting. Food vendors will be offering turkey legs, kettle corn, snow cones, funnel cakes, hamburgers, hot dogs, ice cream and much more.

The event will conclude with fireworks at about 9:40 p.m. Those attending are invited to come early as the parking lot is expected to fill up fast.

The following morning, the annual July Fourth parade is scheduled for 9 a.m. The parade will feature the Coppell High School band, floats from area businesses, horses and many other entries.

The parade will travel from St. Anns Parish, north on Samuel, west on Parkway and end at Town Center. Those attending the parade are invited to dress in red, white and blue.
