UFO Spotted Near the Sun By NASA ... or Totally Not

An image from NASA's Solar and Heliospheric Observatory has renewed fascination over UFOs after capturing what appears to be an image of something large and artificially constructed hovering close to our solar neighbor.

See below. The NASA video shows something that looks like a huge, sectioned object with some sort of lengthy attached mechanical arm near the sun:

As the NASA video spreads around the Internet, UFO believers are claiming the object is an alien spaceship. Of course, that's probably very unlikely.

Any spaceship getting that close to the sun, with temperatures nearing 10,000 degrees, would surely burn up right then and there ... or would it?

IF the aliens were equipped with a technology we don't have yet, and could withstand enormous heat, they could pull it off though. Think about it.

Would you look at that? NVIDIA hinted it would be coming today, and it looks like the tease is living up to the hype. The company stormed into the weekend at its Shanghai Game Festival by unleashing its latest offering, the GeForce GTX 690 -- and oh yeah, it's packing two 28nm Kepler GPUs! Trumping the recently released GTX 680 as the "worlds fastest graphics card," it's loaded with a whopping 3,072 Cuda cores. The outer frame is made from trivalent chromium-plated aluminum, while you'll find thixomolded magnesium alloy around the fan for vibration reduction and added cooling. Aiding in cooling even further, the unit also sports a dual vapor chamber and center-mounted fan. It'll cost you a spendy $1,000 to pick up one of these puppies come May 3rd, and you'll likely be tempted to double up -- two can run together in SLI as an effective quad-core card. With that said, NVIDIA claims that a single 690 runs 4dB quieter and handles about twice the framerate as a duo of GTX 680s in SLI -- impressive, but we'll reserve judgement until we see it for ourselves. LG gives away 2,000 specially modified phones for the blind

Skipping on the LTE, HD IPS screen or dual-processor is usually not a recipe that will land your phone on the pages of Engadget. But, these LG-LU2700Ss are not just any unspectacular flip phone. The handset has been specially modified for use by the blind and visually impaired. The manual is printed in braille and, rather than require the constant mashing of buttons, the phone is controlled primarily through voice commands. 2,000 of the devices were given away as part of the company's donation program. Now if only they would mass produce them, LG would earn some serious cred.

Katie Price: Engaged to Leandro Penna!

Leandro Penna is set to marry Katie Price.

The voluptuous UK model, who only recently got divorced from Alex Reid, after getting divorced by Peter Andre not long before that, showed off her huge, sparkly, pink, heart-shaped diamond engagement ring this week.

Last night, she tweeted: "Wooo hooo so excited." Woo.

Katie's spokesman confirmed the engagement, telling The Sun: "It's true, they are engaged. Leandro proposed to Katie while they were away skiing recently and she said yes. They told her children but intended to keep it secret for a while."

"They are both very happy. No wedding arrangements have been made and they are both relaxed about that for the time being."

Katie Price and Leandro Penna, a model from Argentina, first met at Elton John's Oscars party last year. The mother of three has certainly been through a roller coaster in the romance department. Let's hope the third time's the charm?

Misfit Wearables, The Startup From Agamatrix?s Founders, Former Apple CEO John Sculley, Raises $7.6M

Google Glass isn't the only game in town. Misfit Wearables, a wearable computing startup from the founding team of mobile health company Agamatrix and former Apple chief executive John Sculley, just raised $7.6 million in a round co-led by Founders Fund. The other notable firm in the deal isn't disclosed, but we hear through a source that it's Khosla Ventures. Misfit isn't saying too much about what it's working on, except to say that the next generation of wearable devices shouldn't compete with fashion, has to be ambient and has to have functions outside of sensing. It has to be the kind of thing a consumer wouldn't need to remember to wear and ideally, it would be something that's so critical that a person would go back home if they left it there.

Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse Top Fans' Hologram Wish-Lists

Departed artists like Whitney Houston, Queen's Freddie Mercury and John Lennon also get mentions from fans in Times Square.

NEW YORK — After the Tupac hologram performance at Coachella made such a huge splash, the team behind the projection system floated the possibility this week of an Elvis hologram to perform with Justin Bieber. Even '90s girl group TLC is rumored to be considering a virtual version of the late Left Eye on their upcoming tour.

With all that talk, MTV News hit Times Square to ask fans which departed artists they would most like to see perform in hologram form. While some of those interviewed wanted to see other rappers like the Notorious B.I.G. or Nate Dogg, one fan thought Whitney Houston should get the honors.

"I love her, I grew up singing her [songs], just walking around the house when I was seven or eight," Shayana of Houston said.

Brits Amy Winehouse and John Lennon of the Beatles were also popular picks, and a few rock fans mentioned Queen's flamboyant frontman. "It would have to be Freddie Mercury because Queen were one of the all-time greatest bands and he was a showman," said a fan named Rob.

Blane Mader would like to see a hologram of another great showman, Michael Jackson.

"It's a really cliché answer, but in my time I've never seen him and it would just be something awesome to watch," Mader said of the King of Pop.

Members of the Jackson 5 recently announced that they would love to have a virtual Michael on their upcoming Unity Tour. "Wouldn't that be wonderful? As a matter of fact, we had that idea two years ago for Michael's Cirque du Soleil show," Michael's brother Jackie Jackson told E! News.
